a post of reminiscence.

sometimes as i'm walking, i'll find myself thinking about you.
not in the i-miss-you-so-much, my-heart-hurts-everytime-i-think-about-you kinda way,
but like a long lost friend, almost.

i wonder about how you're doing and if you've been happy.
i wonder whether you've learnt new things and matured,
or whether whatever that has happened has made you bitter.

i think about how young we've been 2 years back,
and the silly things we talked about.
i remember the first time i met you at my old g12.
how i thought you were kinda sarcastic but funny at the same time.
and about the saturday when i arrived early at SCGS and was so shocked to find you there,
because you just returned from your trip on the same day.
the way butterflies i felt in my stomach and the grin i could not wipe off my face.
how i'd been so excited that we talked that it absolutely made my day.

i wonder how many people you've fallen in love with in the past year.
i wonder what new things you've been involved in and whether you've been chasing your dreams.
i wonder whether you're still as involved with church activities,
and how your family's doing.

i wonder whether you still have the presents from me,
and how you feel when you see me.

when i look at the field near the library and see people flying kites,
i think of you and i don't know why.
it's almost as though i've associated you with kite flying.
i think about the promises we made so hastly,
only to realize that the person who made the promise and the person who heard are both gone.
i think about the we pass by each other in church now,
and it's as though we have never known each other.

i wonder whether we'll do it all over again if we had a chance,
or if we'll choose to go down the same path.
i wonder whether we'll ever be friends again.

most of all, i wonder whether you've been happy.
i sincerely hope you are.

i didn't understand what people meant when they said, time heals all wounds.
but now i think i do.
only time will determine when and how i'm going to move on.
it might not be right away like the way iwant it to be,
but eventually one day i woke up and realized that somewhere along the way,
that piercing feeling i've felt inside our chests has faded and gone away
while i was too busy living life to notice.
