saving myself.
it's amazing how much power we wield in our words and our actions. we can rewrite stories in any way we like, we can add twists and turns in places we want; we can even change sad endings to happily-ever-after ones. we write something, and as long as we believe and get people to believe in it, we can make it into reality.
the words we say, shapes ourselves and others in way we can never imagine. they say that if you say that you can't do it, you can't. the judgment we pass on others comes not in the form of a piece of legal documents, but in the form of words. we don't even realize our own foolishness, sometimes till it's too late.
perhaps that's why we write, so as to give ourselves an escape. because we hold absolute power in our writing, we control the events and the course of everything. for once, we can play god. we insert our own agendas through the things we say, the associations we draw, even in the way we write it, inverted syntax or placing of punctuation.
and i believe the same goes in our lives. perhaps we cannot have total control, but we make our own decisions don't we. in life, decisions are sometimes equivalent to words we write, they determine how our lives turn out, the person we become and the character we develop. there's no escaping that truth.
