rain poured outside my window and envelopes everything that is in my vision. a never ending shower that you cannot escape no matter where you turn. it's there. you can smell it, see it and above all, you can feel it in your heart. it seemed to emulate the state of my emotions. no matter how much i try to run, it doesn't work.

things that happened on the outside used to be the variables, the things that would set my world spinning out of control at times. but i knew that in the end, everything was going to be alright because i knew that the core would still be there, intact and ever-present. but now the core is evolving, it's charging head first into the realm of the unknown. i'm falling headfirst into the unfamiliar.

people slip so easily through our fingers, if we're not careful. they say that life happens and takes some people from us, but i've always thought that we would be an exception. in my mind, nothing could create a chasm between us because we would surpass all the tests of time that were thrown at all. i desperately want to believe in that.

i stubbornly refuse to believe that we are only an interest group, that without a common interest, we would fall apart. i stubbornly believe that we are more than that.

i need to believe this.
